In its 14th year, Cielo Latino is a prominent and highly visible platform for leaders in business, government, entertainment and the media to showcase their philanthropy for AIDS.
Cielo Latino 2009
There was a lot to celebrate on May 12th 2009, the night of Cielo Latino. A gleaming star-studded night surrounded Cipriani Wall Street, where a red-carpet entrance and magical hospitality unfolded to welcome the Commission’s guests to the 14th annual fund-raising event. Wilmer Valderrama and Dayana Mendoza, Miss Universe 2008 radiated as the evening’s master of ceremonies; outstanding leaders in the fight against AIDS were honored for their work; Jorge Villamizar (Former lead singer of the Grammy award-winning band Bacilos), delivered a soulful performance.
News anchor Carmen Medicci acepted her designation as the Commission’s newest “Madrina” in the Fight Against AIDS.
The event received wide media coverage and drew over 500 in attendance from leaders in business, entertainment, government and the non-profit sector. Important financial contribution was raised, seeding new hope for the people served by the Commission’s programs.
