Reunion Latina

Addressing the Impact of HIV, Viral Hepatitis and STIs in the Latino Community

Drafting solutions to health challenges

Reunion Latina is a two-day training institute that aims to improve the health of Latinos and minorities,
and bring together Latino and Latino-serving organizations on drafting solutions to health challenges.

Reunion Latina 2018
About Reunion Latina

The Latino Commission on AIDS has hosted Reunion Latina since 1996 and has provided a space for providers and stakeholders to discuss ways to improve services, share strategies on how to overcome health challenges, unify our efforts to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic, address viral Hepatitis and STIs and craft a common vision to eliminate health disparities in Latino communities.

The two-day training institute will feature a combination of panel presentations, workshops and institutes that will explore the use of PrEP and nPEP as prevention tools against HIV, the management of HIV as a chronic disease, linking clients to treatment and care. Likewise, the institute will cover other health conditions affecting Latino communities such as viral hepatitis, STIs, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer and asthma.

This training is suitable for health care providers, nurses, outreach workers, case managers, people living with HIV, community leaders, elected officials, health department representatives and anyone interested in advancing the health conditions of the Latino communities.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Reunion Latina provides an opportunity to showcase the commitment of your organization to the well being of the communities of color, meet potential partners, and reach to service providers and their clients. Your sponsorship makes possible to grant scholarships to people with HIV/AIDS who want to get involved in the community and make some change – and we need your help to ensure that we can bring as many of them to the training institute.

TESTIMONIALS

What attendees have to say about Reunion Latina

I learned stategies in how HIV can be taught inside of communities of faith, no just in health centers. I learned that we Latinas are disproportionately impacted by HIV.
